Marius Nedelcu (born July 31st, 1976, in Campina, Romania) is a critically acclaimed Romanian singer and songwriter. For almost a decade in the spotlight of the European music scene, Nedelcu combines fresh electronica sounds with pop and club mixes to assert his unique vision and personal influence in contemporary dance music.

Marius began experimenting with sounds and singing during his first school years, when he would enchant the audience with his one-of-a-kind vocal tonality, while singing in the school choir. Encouraged by family, friends, teachers and even mere acquaintances, Marius decided to pursue a full-time music career and decided to turn his talent, potential, unique voice and charisma, captivating stage presence and powerful songwriting skills into a success story.

Marius debuted in 2002 as a singing member, main composer and lyricist of Akcent, one of the first Romanian boy bands to reach international acclaim by selling more than one million albums across Europe. To name only a few of the singles that took over the European charts and instantly skyrocketed to no.1 positions, Jokero (2006) and King of Disco (2007) garnered massive success in countries such as France, Netherlands, Belgium, Sweden, Norway, Finland, Poland, Bulgaria, Serbia, Albania, Ukraine, Russia, Estonia, Turkey and Greece. A veritable phenomenon in European music, the band’s great renown brought them in front of more than 100.000 people playing on the occasion of Queen’s Day in the Netherlands, led them to perform at the Romanian Music Festival in New York City, brought them live appearances on M6 (no.1 French TV music channel) siding with Craig David, Texas and t.A.T.u., and opening acts for Enrique Iglesias, Mel C., Tiesto, September, Abba Teens, Velvet, Dima Bilan and Arash (to name only a few) in Romania and abroad. In 2006, the band was awarded Best Group at the MTV Romanian Music Awards by none other than the Sugababes. For their unparalleled success in music and impressive breakthroughs, Akcent received four golden records and one platinum in Romania, and gold records in France, Russia and Greece.

But Marius’ complex understanding of music would bring him much further in the vanguard of Romanian music. His outstanding abilities as a songwriter emerged publicly when successful Romanian singers such as Giulia, Gabi Huiban, Cristiana Raduta, Andreea Banica, Heaven and many others began to score hit after hit after playing his compositions. Later collaborations with world-famous Italian composer Gigi D’Agostino (with whom Marius worked on three song remixes for Akcent) would only increase his prestige as a genuine and influential musician.

A fully-grown music professional, and now multi-talented singer, composer and lyricist, Nedelcu decided to pursue a solo music career as of 2008. The year marks his departure from Akcent and coincides with the release of his first single called Rain (feat. Giulia). The single was a groundbreaking success, and became no.1 in the Nielsen Chart in December, the same year. Immediately, Marius was signed to MediaPro Music and released his first solo album, By Myself. A huge amount of international TV & radio coverage and innumerable live performances ensued, with Marius enjoying tremendous popularity at the Sopot Hit Festival and the Hity Na Czasie in Poland, to name just a few of his appearances.
Then after, his solo career rapidly became a success story.

2009 and 2010 marked new heights in his ascension to fame, when his then most recent releases, “Obsession” and “You” hit highest new entry positions on one of the largest and most prolific European music markets: Russia. The Russian public welcomed him wholeheartedly, with Marius gathering recognition and acclaim through a long series of live&unplugged concerts in Moscow (both independently and as a special guest at the Europa Plus Live Festival), as well as all across the Russian territory.

Later that year, Nedelcu became the official spokesman for World Class Romania and Danone, a high-end partnership promoting a nation-wide campaign in support of a healthy lifestyle and nutritious eating habits. Aside from being a well-reputed artist, Nedelcu is known to have tackled with business management for more than eight years now and currently holds the position of Country Manager for World Class Romania.

Starting June 2011, Marius is focused on achieving more than ever before. Passion-driven, his latest single, a duet with Romanian richly-gifted musician Alexandra Ungureanu, was aired by radio stations all across the country, receiving more than encouraging feedback and highly positive reviews from both the audiences and the critics. Written by Smiley and produced under the HaHaHa Production label, “Slow It Down” is a fresh, ingenious and eccentric dance composition, featuring addictive beats and eclectic pitches, complimentary to Marius and Alexandra’s impeccable melange of contrasting vocal tonalities. The song is expected to benefit from a music video in the following months.
